data.gov sitemap
The sitemap for the US open data catalogue — a plain urlset rather than an index, which is unusual at this scale.
Most sites this large publish a sitemap index pointing at many files. This one is a single urlset, which makes it a good document for seeing where the 50,000-URL limit actually sits in practice.
It is also a working example of the elements the sitemap corpus documents, at a size where lastmod coverage is visible at a glance.
