XML namespace

RDF/XML syntax

The RDF graph syntax, and the namespace that identifies an RSS 1.0 document.

xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#"

RDF/XML expresses a graph in XML, so its documents look unusual: rdf:about attributes carry identity and nesting encodes relationships rather than containment.

For feed work, its practical importance is RSS 1.0, whose root element is <rdf:RDF> rather than <rss> — which is why some "RSS" feeds fail a naive root-element check.
