XML namespace
SAML 2.0 protocol
The namespace for SAML requests, responses, status codes, logout messages, and other protocol-level exchanges.
xmlns:samlp="urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:protocol"This namespace wraps the conversation around SAML assertions. AuthnRequest, Response, LogoutRequest, LogoutResponse, Status, and StatusCode describe what a participant asks and how the other participant answered.
It is deliberately separate from the assertion namespace. A Response normally imports both: samlp for the envelope and status, saml for issuer, subject, conditions, statements, and attributes.
